Updated February 2010Greetings from a unique group of people - the retirees of the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The Laboratory Retiree Group (LRG) is a non-profit corporation which seeks to maintain communications with and to serve the needs and interests of the nearly 3500 retirees from LANL. Our motto "Reaching Out From a Common Experience" has special significance. We have served the nation at many levels using the most advanced technologies on our planet; and we do it from an isolated community in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. As retirees, we have much to offer from a special perspective. Our members are active in all areas of human endeavor from the classical perception of retirement to advising the local communities, the nation, and the world on the implications of the use of technology. Many of our members are engaged in both academic research and in commercial research and development. We have established committees on Social Interaction, Computer Literacy, Technical Advancement, Health Issues, and Educational Outreach. (Posted 02/01) ITS PARTY TIME! Join other LRG members for an evening of socializing and good food at the Hilltop House in Los Alamos on Thursday evening, March 18. The festivities will start about 6 and will end around 9 PM. Cost is $30.00 per person and a cash bar will be available. (Posted 01/31)The Los Alamos County Council has decided to put the new Municipal Building where the old Los Alamos Apartment complex was just east of the Bradbury Museum and Otowi Book Store. For a site picture and more information go to our Changing Face of Los Alamosweb page.
(Posted 02/06) The National Park Service was directed by the Congress to study the feasibility of establishing a Manhatten Project Historical Park. Los Alamos would be an important link in such a Park. A meeting to gather public comments on the study was held in Los Alamos on February 2. For more information on the status of this feasibility study and a summary of the meeting go to our web page LRG at Work.
